Guide dogs for the blind are supported by Purina and WSZL
Purina and WSZL are celebrating 15 years of cooperation with a HUF 12 million donation to guide dogs.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of their cooperation, the two companies are providing support for guide dogs this time. WSZL delivered the donation of 15 pallets of Pro Plan dog food and reward snacks offered by Purina, worth a total of HUF 12 million, to the National Association of the Hungarian Blind and Visually Impaired (MVGYOSZ). This quantity is sufficient for a long time to feed puppies and dental care for adult dogs.
At the Guide Dog Training Center of MVGYOSZ in Csepel, 13 future guide dogs are currently being trained, and thanks to the effective help of volunteer puppy raisers, 15 students, up to ten months old, are awaiting training. The cost of training a dog is about HUF 4.2 million. MVGYOSZ provides nearly 82,000 visually impaired people living in Hungary with services that facilitate their independent living, and has been training guide dogs for the blind for more than four decades. MVGYOSZ also helps feed the already actively working guide dogs by involving its own resources and through targeted fundraising campaigns to relieve the visually impaired owners.
