Partial payments in the Agro-ecological Program are progressing at a steady pace
A total of 12 billion forints worth of partial payments have been completed for 4,109 applicants in the Agro-ecological Program (AÖP). This means that the affected farmers have received support in excess of 72 billion forints in connection with more than 60,000 applications – announced József Viski, State Secretary responsible for agricultural and rural development support at the Ministry of Agriculture.

The State Secretary highlighted that the Ministry of Agriculture remains committed to supporting sustainable, environmentally and climate-conscious agricultural practices with incentive programs. This is served by the AÖP, a voluntary support title introduced in 2023 within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan and available to farmers. Farmers are increasingly feeling the impact of climate change, so they are consciously looking for solutions that make production work sustainable in the long term, the state secretary said.
The program is extremely popular, as more than 4 million hectares have applied for support under this title
The goal of the AÖP is to implement activities in everyday farming practices that contribute to soil protection, water retention and biodiversity conservation. After the checks related to the affected applications have been completed, payments will continue on schedule. Farmers can follow the status of their applications in the usual way, on the customer portal.
