The Szegedi paprika received EU protection

The European Commission, put the Szegedi paprika on the”protected area of origin of products” (appellations d'origine protégées, AOP) list – was announced in Brussels on Wednesday.

The “szegedi fűszerpaprika-őrlemény” was also registered beside “Szegedi Paprika” under the same entry, that contains a precise definition.

This protection ensures that noone else can market products under the name “Szegedi Paprika” in the European Union – reports Népszabadság Online, after MTI.
