EU Commissioner for Agriculture: Hungary is a key partner in agricultural policy negotiations
Hungary is a key partner, a key factor in the bargaining process for the new EU budget period and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) rules -Phil Hogan, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development said after discussing with Nagy István Minister of Agriculture on Monday in Budapest.
At the press conference following the bilateral meeting Nagy István emphasized that there is a need for a farmer friendly and an adequate EU agricultural policy after 2020, and the most important element of the new system should remain the hectare-based direct payments. (MTI)
