ALDI and E.ON are installing ultra-fast electric car chargers in Székesfehérvár, which will soon be followed by more
The E.ON Hungária Group has created a four-position ultra-fast electric car charging station in the parking lot of one of the ALDI stores in Székesfehérvár, with two charging devices.
The 300 kW DC chargers can charge six times faster than the 50 kW lightning chargers, which are the most common among DC chargers. E.ON, in cooperation with ALDI, will install similar ultra-fast charging stations at 14 additional locations in Hungary by the beginning of 2025. The event in Székesfehérvár is the first stop of a major international project, within the framework of which the international E.ON Group will build more than a thousand 150 kW ultra-fast charging points in 9 European countries. The project’s financial background is partially provided by the European Union’s “European Network Financing Facility” (CEF2) transport development support.
Dr. András Cser-Palkovics, Mayor of the County City of Székesfehérvár, Bernhard Haider, National Managing Director of ALDI Hungary, and Zsolt Jamniczky, Deputy CEO of E.ON Hungária Group handed over the four-station, ultra-fast electric car charging station to ALDI Székesfehérvár, Szent Flória in the parking lot of his boulevard shop. The 300 kW direct current chargers can provide charging up to six times faster than the currently common direct current electric car chargers, so the vehicle’s battery can be charged in the right conditions even during a 15-minute shopping trip for suitable vehicles Ultra-fast chargers are the current e-mobility in addition to their dynamic rate of development, they will soon be essential for motorists on longer journeys or those who do not have the possibility to charge at home.
It was also announced that E.ON, in cooperation with ALDI, will install 2 ultra-fast 300 kW chargers at 14 additional locations in Hungary by the beginning of 2025, similar to the one in Székesfehérvár. By dividing the 300 kW power, the chargers can provide 150 kW twice, so a total of 30 ultra-fast chargers and 60 charging points will be available to motorists. E.ON currently operates 146 of the 260 public electric car chargers in Hungary jointly with ALDI.
