Madrid’s oldest café is open again
The Spanish capital’s oldest coffee house, the Café Comercial has reopened its doors again. The Café Comercial is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year.
The cultic site in the center of Madrid, was the haunt of the Spanish cultural life. Poets, writers, journalists, musicians, filmmakers met, talked and given rise to the world at the marble tables. They were frequent readings and literary evenings. The name of Antonio Machado, poet and Camilo José Cela became synonymous with Café Comercial. (Fehér Krisztina, MTI)
