ALDI Hungary is reopening its store located at 8 Báthory Street in the 5th district of Budapest after extensive maintenance. The store will be open to customers from February 19, 2026, according to the latest ALDI concept, with new furniture, a focus on fresh products and modern technical solutions.

One of ALDI’s most popular stores in Budapest is the Báthory Street store located in the 5th district, near the Parliament and Kossuth Square. In order to serve customer needs even better, the chain is carrying out extensive maintenance on the store, so that it can welcome customers renewed from February 19.

“ALDI Hungary is developing its Hungarian store network with a strategic approach in the interest of its customers. Our Báthory Street store makes everyday shopping even simpler and more convenient with a renewed, clean layout that responds to customer needs”

– said Bernhard Haider, National Managing Director of ALDI Hungary Food Bt. regarding the works.

Renewed layout, focus on fresh products

The store’s advantageous features will not change, as it is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle or by public transport thanks to its excellent location. During the maintenance, ALDI will create a simpler customer route in the sales area and prioritize fresh products. The fruit and vegetable and fresh meat product groups will be located at the entrance of the store, so the fresh products – which are delivered to the store daily – are directly available upon entry. In addition to the open vegetable and fruit counters, the company is also installing refrigerators, so certain products – such as salads, mushrooms, packaged pickles – will be offered in refrigerators in the future, thus ensuring longer quality preservation. The entire furniture of the store is being renewed, creating a cleaner, more transparent shopping environment. The display bakery located in the sales area awaits customers with fresh baked goods from opening to closing: the currently 54 types of sweet and savory products are baked fresh on site several times during the day according to customer demand. In addition to the display bakery, more than 50 packaged baked goods, including gluten-free breads, cakes, and pastries, await customers.

Reopening promotions, gifts

To mark the reopening, ALDI is reducing the prices of nearly 30 products – including vegetables, fruits, baked goods, fresh meats, and dairy products – by up to 30% exclusively in this store. At the opening on Thursday morning, the first 200 customers will receive a guaranteed gift in an envelope, the envelopes containing ALDI shopping vouchers worth between 2,000 and 100,000 forints.
