FrieslandCampina Introduces Recyclable Packaging For Cheese
Dutch dairy giant FrieslandCampina has announced that it has introduced fully-recyclable resealable packaging for cheese in Europe.
The new packaging, which is also lighter than its previous version, will help the company in reducing its plastic footprint by 30%.
It is equivalent to removing 300,000 kilograms of plastic from its operations on an annual basis, the company said.
The initiative is in addition to an earlier plastic reduction strategy implemented by the company aimed at reducing plastic use by more than 20%.
FrieslandCampina aims to make all packaging globally fully recyclable by 2025.
