Environmentally friendly

The brewing sector is the only one in Hungary that uses the technology of refilling efficiently and sustainably (returned bottles, casks). What is more, beer’s most popular convenient packaging is aluminium can that can be recycled completely and infinitely. Members of the Association of Hungarian Brewers decided in November 2009 to launch an innovative project, which urges and rewards environmentally conscious behaviour by consumers. The association commissioned Hungarian company Returpack Kft. to develop a unique recycling machine that is also capable of accepting 100-percent aluminium cans in a compressed form. The machine rewards can-returning consumers with a HUF 2-2.5 coupon per can – which is not a deposit but a fee for returning waste.
