Wolt is launching a reusable packaging program in Budapest
Wolt is also launching its reusable packaging program, which is already popular abroad, in Budapest. With this initiative, Wolt reduces the amount and environmental impact of packaging materials used in restaurants, contributing to minimizing waste and saving resources.
From October 9, Wolt and the Rakun Box Association will launch their reusable packaging program in cooperation with 15 well-known Budapest restaurants, including Zoska, Gurman Bisztró and La Cipolla. Rakun is an innovative, waste-free repackaging system available as a monthly service. The service can be used by subscribing in the Rakun application, based on how many boxes the customer wants to use per month. The use of boxes ensures that no waste is generated after the order. In the first month, eco-conscious users can subscribe to Rakun boxes at half price with the coupon code WOLT50.
As part of the collaboration between Wolt and Rakun, the boxes will be registered as products in the Wolt app, which the user will need to add to their cart when ordering. The customer must then enter Rakun’s unique delivery code in a note so that the restaurant can send the food in the box. After eating the food and rinsing the box, the user must personally return the box, but it is not mandatory to return it to the same restaurant from which he ordered it, as any Rakun partner restaurant will receive it. After the partner restaurant properly disinfects the used box, it can be reused up to 1,000 times. In the first week of the start of the cooperation, i.e. October 9-15. between Wolt delivers all Rakunos orders to your home without a delivery fee.
