Revival in the poultry market
Agricultural Business Research Institute (AKI) continuously monitors developments in the world market of meat and poultry. Data from the Price Information System of KSH and AKI can be useful for making even short term business decisions.
According to their recent publications, the position of the swine and poultry industries has deteriorated in the EU market. Increasing the price of swine is not a feasible option. In recent years, trends in the poultry market have been determined by the threat of bird flu and the resulting reduction in the size of livestock. Domestic prices follow European trends, with the average price exceeding HUF 200 per kilogram by August 2007. Decreasing supply and increasing demand determine present developments in the domestic poultry market.
