A growth of Easter-candy sales to be seen again
The retail sales of Easter candies and gift packages reached nearly an impressive 3 billion HUF last year. This is 11 percent more than it was in the previous year. While in the past one year, the trend appeared to be a decreasing tendency, there is a significant growth this time, according to a fresh survey published by market research company Nielsen.
Considering volume, the number of chocolate eggs, bunnies and other seasonal candies sold last year saw a growth of 7 percent as compared to the previous year, which is over 850 tons. Eighty-five percent of this amount is chocolate figures, similarly to the trend in the previous year.
