Lidl has become a “Trusted Employer” again
Lidl Hungary has won the “Reliable Employer” award from the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the fifth time, with which the organization recognizes quality employer practices.
The German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK) presented the Reliable Employer awards this year again, which Lidl Hungary has won for the fifth time since 2017. The award is given to companies that provide exemplary and reliable care for the working conditions of their employees and contribute to their living conditions.
The aim of the initiative is to recognize quality employer practices. The jury evaluates the applicants based on criteria such as remuneration, social and welfare benefits, working conditions, and the provision of training and career opportunities. Lidl continues to meet these criteria, which is why it received this honorary title for the period 2025-2027. The supermarket chain has once again proven that it pays outstanding attention to its employees’ well-being, competitive wages, and support for their physical and mental health.
“It is a great honor for us to have won the Trusted Employer title for the fifth time, as it is a clear recognition of the dedicated work we do for our employees every day. Our goal is to be the number one choice not only for our customers, but also for our employees – and we do everything we can to achieve this through our outstanding salary system, training opportunities, employee well-being programs, and our corporate culture that offers a long-term career path,”
– said Judit Tőzsér, the company’s head of communications.
Lidl’s measures will continue to be relevant in 2025
Lidl Hungary currently employs nearly 9,500 people, making it one of the country’s largest employers. In addition to competitive wages, fringe benefits and continuous development and advancement opportunities, the company supports its employees with a number of additional tools. The discount chain also pays special attention to the health and well-being of its employees. To this end, it provides its employees with a health program under which they can use private health services and screening tests free of charge nationwide, for which the chain also provides an extra day off for all employees.
The Count on Us! program, launched at the end of 2023 and successfully operating since then, offers financial, legal and psychological counseling to Lidl employees and their family members. The program helps employees facing the challenges of everyday life in an anonymous, confidential and flexible manner.
Lidl’s goal is to continue to be present on the Hungarian labor market as a reliable and attractive employer and to set an example of responsibility towards employees.
