PENNY was once again awarded the Trusted Employer award
This year, PENNY earned the recognition of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the fourth time. The purpose of the award is to draw attention to the importance of workplace conditions, which is why the entrants had to meet the criteria in several areas of human resource management in order to receive recognition. In addition, they also had to prove that they take exemplary care of the working and living conditions of their colleagues.
One of PENNY’s main goals is to strengthen employee loyalty and employ dedicated employees who work wholeheartedly for the company’s success. This is precisely why the food chain tries to support its colleagues with numerous opportunities and employer programs every year. In 2024, the company spent nearly HUF 4 billion on wage improvement, so together with the 17% increase implemented last year, they managed to achieve a total income increase of 27%. In addition, from the middle of this year, it provides a 10% employee discount card to more than 5,000 employees of the chain.
“It is important for us to develop a good relationship with our employees, who feel appreciated for their work. At PENNY, we are constantly working to create an environment for our employees so that they feel comfortable with us in the long term. The support of our employees and the work we invest in developing their careers seem to be paying off, so it is a huge recognition and confirmation for us that we have earned this award for the fourth time, as this also proves that we are on the right track.”
– said Silke Janz, CFO responsible for HR.
