János Cseh, a well known reform chef has left Gundel after a few months. – We had agreed that renewal was needed, but in my opinion, renewal cannot be partial. I have been accused of ruining the kitchen of Gundel, though my menu had only been in effect for two and a half weeks- he says. However, it is rather unusual for a successful chef to leave two jobs within a single year. – All chefs have a style of their own and my ideas are a little different from the usual concepts. Centrál seems to be open to my ideas and we are working on gradually bringing it up to the top with the help of gastronomy – he explains. He believes that Hungarian gastronomy can only be reformed from the top, by creating positive examples to be followed.
