Tourism has reached another record
In February tourism reached a record again in Hungary, and domestic tourism was again the main driving force – the Hungarian Tourism Agency’s (MTÜ) chief executive officer told in response to the latest data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) sent to MTI on Tuesday.
Guller Zoltán emphasized that the sector probably closed its best month February this year, despite the fact that the beginning of the year does not count as a highlight in tourism. He particularly welcomed the double-digit increase in the number of domestic guests and guest nights. “It is clear that people have the money and they want to know new places in the country,” he added, adding that the MTÜ’s domestic promotion campaign contributed to this growth.
