On March 12, WAVES, the Republic Group’s international creative meetup, returns to the Átrium, focusing on issues of the attention economy, algorithm-driven culture and new creativity. The international lineup, which spans from France to the Netherlands, is now expanded with two new names, while the AI video competition associated with the event is also launched, offering young creators an opportunity to showcase their work.

New star speakers from the international scene

Alex Glocknitzer, the lyricist of AI animation (KLOZVÁR): A creator who moves on the border between code and emotion, who, coming from the IT world, has become one of the exciting new voices of AI-based motion pictures in a few years. A master of generative video and animation, she works with tools such as ComfyUI, Deforum and WarpFusion to create hyperdynamic, constantly flowing visual worlds. In her latest works, nature – flowers, butterflies, organic patterns – meets machine imagination, while exploring how technology, human sensitivity and the living world coexist.

Tabitha Swanson, cartographer of invisible worlds (BERLIN): is a multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and founder of the SEEK/FIND community, who sees technology not as a tool but as a question. Her work explores the borderlands of existence – memory, echo and spirituality. Her work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami, Fotografiska and Transmediale, and her debut short film was shown at the Venice Film Festival. As a student of international technology policy at Columbia University, he simultaneously thinks about the infrastructures of the future and the fragile layers of the human soul.

AI video competition: new talents in focus

The aim of the competition is to give space to the creators of the next generation. Applicants can submit a moving image work made with the help of AI, up to 30 seconds long, that reflects on the future of the creative industry. The best works will be presented at the event, and the winner will win a ticket to the AI Film Fest. And who will score? Gábor Fabricius, founder and innovation director of Republic Group, Asad Ayub, founder of AI Film Fest, Dániel Schäffer, journalist of Kreatív, and Mátyás Kálmán, co-founder of INOTA Festival, will evaluate.
