István Nagy announced that on the morning of April 2, laboratory tests had determined that the cattle on both the Darnózseli and Dunakiliti farms were infected. In the former settlement, 1,000 cows were affected by the virus, and in the latter, 2,500. The Minister emphasized that “we are working with all our might to contain further outbreaks.” He also drew attention to the introduction of new measures: from Rajka to Esztergom, disinfection points will be set up at every border crossing, and vehicles will only be able to enter and exit after being disinfected. From now on, disinfection points will be set up at every exit on the highway from Hegyeshalom to Bőny, and disinfection mats will be placed to prevent the virus from breaking out of the county and to contain it – said the minister. For the successful implementation of these measures, they are asking for help from the military, so that they can continue to protect against the virus in an orderly, disciplined manner, 24 hours a day, under controlled conditions – explained István Nagy. “I ask everyone to follow the instructions of the authorities to the fullest extent possible, in a disciplined manner. This is the only way we have a chance to prevent further outbreaks” – said the Minister of Agriculture.
