Another ice cream producer went bankrupt
Creme Glacée Lambert Inc, a producer of ice cream from Quebec, Kanada has filed for bankruptcy and it is expected that its assets will soon be sold off.
Founded in 1956, Creme Glacée Lambert Inc. reported annual sales of about CAD 12 million. The company acquired Ontario ice cream company Stoney Creek Dairy for CAD 7.6 million in 2009. About 40 workers at the company's plant reportedly lost their jobs when production stopped on 30 September 2010. It is understood that Lambert owes its creditors CAD 8.8 million.
Lambert is best known for its frozen ice cream Christmas log desserts.
