Another price cut at Lidl: 30 types of milk and dairy products will be cheaper
Hungarians will receive further help with their everyday shopping: Lidl is reducing the prices of one of the most popular product groups, milk and dairy products. Thanks to the company’s latest move, all milk will be cheaper, and the reduction could reach up to 10%. The price of the affected butters will be reduced by an average of 5-6%, while customers can save up to 200 forints on the most popular Trappist cheeses.
Lidl Hungary’s pricing policy always strives to offer Hungarian customers the best possible prices and to support families to the fullest. As part of this, the market-leading supermarket chain awaits customers with consistently favorable prices and numerous promotions, coupons, and permanent price reductions throughout the year. The company was the first to announce that it would reduce the price of eggs in January, and now it is reducing the price of milk and dairy products.
Hungarians consume a lot of milk and dairy products, and even more: according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH), in 2023 the annual milk consumption per capita was 204 liters of milk, while in the early 2010s it was only around 170 liters. Reducing the price of milk and dairy products can therefore be a daily help to consumers.
In the case of milk, the discount chain will reduce the price of each product by at least 10 forints, but the 2.8% ESL Pilos PET bottled milk will be 50 forints cheaper, which means a 10% price reduction. In addition, the discount chain will also reduce the price of Trappist cheeses in the most popular packaging among consumers, so for example, the 700-gram Pilos halved Trappist cheese will be 200 forints cheaper. The affected butters will cost 5-6% less on average, but the price of Pilos 250 gram salted butter, which is popular with customers, will be reduced by 12%.
