Since an overproduction crisis has developed in Europe, the government is helping dairy farmers with an additional 7 billion forints, paying them a 15 forint premium per liter as support – the Minister Head of the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Thursday in Budapest, on Kormányinfo.
Gergely Gulyás reminded that since the end of last year, the Hungarian dairy sector has already received 38 billion forints in targeted support, and in addition, dairy farmers are being helped with an additional 7 billion forints.
In addition to the war and the countervailing duties introduced by China, he indicated that the causes of the current overproduction crisis were the war and the countervailing duties introduced by China, and that the number of cows giving milk in Europe had increased due to the rising milk prices in previous years.
He added that the government hopes that the difficulties of the sector will only be temporary, and that the European Union could also do something to this end.
