Hungarian wines classified according to EU-categories
Hungarian wines will be classified according to a new category-sytem commensurate with European Union norms, Rural Development Minister Sándor Fazekas announced at a press conference on Thursday.
All Hungarian wines are going to be grouped into “protected designation of origin”, “protected geographical designation of origin” and “without geographical designation of origin” categories, Fazekas added. Specifications for the first two categories have already been drawn up, he mentioned.
Earlier, Hungarian wine categories were “quality”, “protected designation of origin” and “local and table wine”.
