Czech Packeta is expanding with new owners
The consortium of the Luxembourg-based global fund manager CVC Capital Partners and the Czech Emma Capital will buy the Czech Packeta Group, which also has strong positions in the Hungarian parcel delivery market, Packeta told MTI.
The Luxembourg-based global fund manager will buy 65 percent of Packeta, while the Czech holding company will own 35 percent. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2024 after the appropriate official approvals – it was explained, adding that CVC Partners will also involve an additional player, the R2G group, which also has a Czech background, in the transaction.
They pointed out that the company now employs more than 2,000 people, operates 15,000 parcel collection points and 6,000 parcel machines in six countries: in addition to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Romania and Poland. Last year, they also started expanding in Slovenia.
In 2023, the company group delivered a record number of 106 million parcels. The company was launched on the Hungarian market in 2015 under the name Csomagküldő.hu, and has been using the brand name Packeta since 2021.
