Avian influenza has appeared in a new farm in Csongrád-Csanád County
The laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) confirmed the presence of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in a roast duck farm in Csongrád-Csanád County. The affected flock is currently being liquidated. Nébih once again draws attention to the full compliance with epidemiological regulations.
The disease was confirmed by the Nébih laboratory in a roast duck flock of approximately 24,000 individuals in Zsombó, Csongrád-Csanád County. The presence of the disease was drawn to attention by the increased mortality. The H5N1 subtype of the virus was detected in the samples.
The authority has designated a 3 km radius protection zone and an expanded surveillance zone around the farm.
The flock is being liquidated. As the weather warms and birds migrate, the risk of introducing the disease has also increased. Therefore, it is still essential to fully comply with disease control measures on livestock farms and to prevent cross-infection from wild birds. Preventing the onset and further spread of the disease is crucial for the entire poultry sector!
