British retailer Tesco helps visually impaired shoppers with new technology
Tesco is the first in the UK to introduce the Be My Eyes app, which provides live video assistance to blind and visually impaired shoppers.

During the six-month trial programme –which began on World Sight Day (10 October) – app users can connect directly with store employees, enabling them to receive real-time support in identifying products, checking expiry dates and package sizes, receiving Clubcard offers and using the self-checkout.
