Hungarian-Georgian agricultural relations reach a new level
Cooperation in the field of agriculture is particularly important, as Hungary’s experience and innovative solutions can help Georgia in the field of sustainable development and modernisation of the agricultural economy, highlighted István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, during his talks with Davit Szongulashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, in Budapest on Wednesday.

The ministers held bilateral talks on Wednesday on the development of agricultural relations between the two countries, as well as on the signing of a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The talks took place within the framework of the two-day Hungarian-Georgian government summit in the Carmelite Monastery.
The ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Hungary and Georgia
The memorandum concerns, among other things, designations of origin and geographical indications, Hungaricums, sustainable forestry, hunting and water management, as well as scientific research, state support programmes and the promotion of Georgian students’ studies in Hungary. István Nagy emphasized that trade and investment relations between the two countries have also strengthened, especially in the fields of agricultural products, winemaking, and arable and horticultural production. Joint projects and exchange of experiences open up beneficial opportunities for both countries, contributing to the further development of bilateral relations.
