The Minister emphasized that a large part of the agricultural business is related to animal husbandry in the form of live animals, meat products and feed. These contribute to the growth of North Macedonian agriculture, therefore they are mutually beneficial for both countries. In addition, it is also important in terms of bilateral relations that North Macedonian large farms and concentrated producers purchase most of their soybean meal from Hungary, in addition to Serbia. The key question for future food security is how to use the resources we have more efficiently, said István Nagy, adding that he and the North Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Affairs, Cvetan Tripunovski, agreed that it is important to keep food prices stable and to take decisive action against unfair trading practices in order to protect their citizens. The Minister also informed that, based on the agreement reached at the current meeting, the specific elements of bilateral cooperation will be included in a comprehensive agreement this spring.
