A new player has appeared on the Hungarian online insurance brokerage market, SimplePay Zrt. and Hungarikum Biztosítási Alkusz Zrt. have launched simplebiztositas.hu, a new, fully online insurance brokerage platform – the two companies announced to MTI on Wednesday.
According to the announcement, the aim of the service is to make the conclusion and re-registration of compulsory motor third party liability insurance (kgfb) and casco insurance faster, more convenient and simpler for motorists with its digital solutions.
The two companies founded the joint venture last October under the name SimpleBiztosítás.hu Zrt., to become the defining sales channel of online insurance brokerage in the Hungarian insurance brokerage market, leveraging the strengths and synergies of the two founder-owners.

The service will be available directly in the Simple application from January 28, as well as on a separate website under the simplebiztositas.hu brand. Anyone can register for simplebiztosági.hu independently via the website, while the process of taking out insurance and re-registration for existing Simple users will be significantly simplified.
Péter Bese, CEO of SimplePay, a digital payment solutions provider, explained in the announcement: Simple’s goal is to simplify everyday finances and administration, whether it’s parking, purchasing motorway vignettes, or depositing checks.
They have more than 3.9 million registered users, and motorists occupy a prominent place among the app’s users, with approximately 19 percent of Hungarian passenger cars using Simple.
Erik Keszthelyi, Chairman and CEO of Hungarikum Insurance Brokerage Zrt., stated:
The strategic cooperation with SimplePay Zrt. provides an opportunity to build on their decades of brokering experience to bring insurance even closer to customers in a technologically advanced, modern digital environment and provide expert assistance in the event of a claim.
According to public company data, Hungarikum Insurance Brokerage Zrt.’s sales revenue in 2024 was almost 27 billion forints, with an adjusted after-tax profit of 13.7 billion forints. In the previous year, its profit amounted to 12.8 billion forints, with sales revenue of 15.6 billion forints.
SimplePay Zrt., which is part of the OTP Bank group, has been the legal successor of OTP Mobil Kft. since last year.
According to public company data, the company achieved sales revenue of approximately 19 billion forints by June 30 last year, while in 2024 it achieved 31.5 billion forints. Its after-tax profit was 1.78 billion forints and 2.6 billion forints, respectively.
