Glovo Adds New Personalisation Features To Its App
Glovo has upgraded its app with new personalisation features, including the ‘Discovery Wall’, ‘Fast Track’ and customer review functions.
The Spanish delivery company started adding personalised features in 2024 and will now roll out a new update across its operations in 22 countries, ESM Magazine reports.
The upgrade blends food and Q-commerce, displaying offers from restaurants, grocery and retail stores in one place.
Inspiring New Purchases
The new ‘Discovery Wall’ will feature suggested products and offers based on current platform trends and customer favourites.
Glovo aims to support customer indecision with the new feature, including adaptive carousels of categories such as ‘Trending right now’, ‘Hot & highly rated’, ‘Loved by locals’, ‘Budget Friendly’ or ‘Fine dining’.
Consumer trends will be updated using AI-technology, which scans customer reviews.
Oscar Pierre, CEO of Glovo, said, “We’re evolving from an app people used to order whatever they want in their cities, to a destination where you can explore, be inspired, find what you need and decide with confidence.”
Speeding Up Purchases
The upgrade will also include the ‘Fast Track’ feature, which offers customers suggested thematic baskets to speed up the shopping experience.
Baskets such as ‘Sunday BBQ’, ‘Movie Night’ or ‘Weekly Basics’ list product options, allowing customers to select their preferred brand within each product category.
Glovo emphasised that the feature could encourage customers to purchase from new stores and brands.
Connie Kwok, vice president of Q-Commerce at Glovo, said, “The future of digital grocery shopping lies in breaking today’s frictions. We are evolving the experience from a manual task into an intuitive seamless journey.
“‘Fast Track’ isn’t just about saving time; it’s about anticipating the customer’s needs and providing a curated experience that makes multi-item shopping as easy as ordering a pizza.”
Focus On Community
The upgrade will also introduce a dedicated section for customer reviews.
Glovo customers will be able to rate products and upload photos, as well as separately review restaurants and stores.
Reviews can be shared with selected users or across the website.
Glovo noted that all contributions will be monitored in line with the company’s guidelines and privacy regulations, and only confirmed purchases can be reviewed.
Pierre, added, “The new features bring together community, AI powered personalisation, and speed to make every order feel easier while we keep betting on social and community features to make the app more human and connected to every local community where we operate.”
