A new pig farm was established in Dombegyháza
With an investment of HUF four billion, Agrosztár Kft. established a new pig farm in Dombegyháza in Békés County, the company’s managing director informed MTI on Friday.
Balázs Dorcsinecz said that in 2021 they successfully applied for the call for support for the development of livestock farms within the framework of the Rural Development Program, in which they won more than HUF 2 billion in support. The remaining amount was financed with a bank loan and own resources. An almost 9,000-square-meter, cooled and heated farrowing and rearing building was built, which can serve 1,000 sows and their offspring. Feeding also works with modern technology: a mixing and distribution system has been installed that can serve each trough with a separate amount and mixture of feed according to the needs of the animals there. Four 1,000-ton grain storage silos were built to store feed requirements. The heating is provided by an energy-efficient, unsupervised automatic straw-burning boiler of Danish manufacture.
They also built a manure storage facility for HUF 250 million – added the executive
Balázs Dorcsinecz said that with the new facility, their stock of breeding sows increased from the previous 700 to 1,700. The 700 animals that existed before are kept in a separate building, and there is also a fattening station for them. 20 percent of the pigs are sold as piglets to fattening dogs through the Alföldi Pig Sales and Purchasing Agricultural Cooperative. According to the plans, a fattening station will also be built on the farm for the new herd. They won a tender for it, optimally, construction could start in late spring – indicated the executive.
According to publicly available company data, Agrosztár Kft. achieved sales revenue of HUF 4.2 billion in 2022, which comes almost entirely from domestic sales. This is almost one billion forints higher than the sales of the previous year. During this time, their taxable profit increased from HUF 350 million to HUF 1.2 billion. The company, founded in 1990, employs 21 people, but the three companies of the family business employ a total of 160 people.
