PENNY is coming up with a new chef
PENNY Hungary starts a long-term collaboration with chef Richárd Farkas, who strengthens the store chain’s aspirations with his expertise and creative approach. The gastronomic specialist’s youthful drive, innovative approach and commitment to domestic ingredients fit perfectly with the philosophy of the renewed PENNY. As part of the partnership, the chef not only provides customers with professional advice, but also regularly participates in various events and campaigns, which opens up a new perspective in the company’s communication.
Richárd Farkas’ professional career started in a rural restaurant, and then he gained experience in top international restaurants. He worked in the gastronomic forefront of Barcelona and Budapest, and for more than five years he ran the nationally renowned kitchen of the Őrség in the Pajta restaurant. The specialist, who also won the Young Chef Talent of the Year award, considers the use of seasonal ingredients selected from home, dressing traditional recipes in a modern guise, and sustainability to be particularly important in the kitchen. Supporting the primary producers has defined his entire career path, which fits perfectly with PENNY’s “farm to shelf” philosophy.
“To me, the kitchen means military discipline and creative freedom at the same time. I love traditional folk cuisine, but at the same time I am constantly looking for new ideas. I can’t wait to share this approach with PENNY’s customers and show them how to cook exciting dishes from fresh and seasonal domestic ingredients.”
– said Richárd Farkas about the partnership.
