New Pizza Hut: the robot waiter, Bella, and the self-service ice cream counter are coming

Pizza Hut has opened its new restaurant in Szombathely, on the city’s main square, where a particularly spectacular presentation took place in the midst of the Christmas market. In the unit, guests can experience a modern Dine-in concept that has already proven itself in Pécs. The new restaurant also brings a technological and experiential twist to the city’s hospitality, as elements such as Bella, the serving robot, and the self-service Ice Cream Factory, which could become a favorite spot for children and families, have arrived here for the first time.

They also prepare with new pizza and mulled wine

In the new Pizza Hut in Szombathely, a hostess welcomes guests, who can then decide for themselves how they would like to order and pay. The parallel presence of digital interfaces and servers provides flexibility that allows everyone to eat at their own pace. The restaurant will also introduce several seasonal novelties upon opening: new desserts and salads will appear, a completely new pizza will also be added to the menu, and mulled wine will also be available due to the holiday season. Of course, the menu also includes well-known pizzas and the WingStreet product range introduced this year.

The unlimited soft drink refill gets special attention, as guests can decide for themselves when and how much they want to drink, and they can even change the flavors.

“We are experiencing that guests are looking for much more of an experience than before. They are not necessarily in a hurry, but rather want to find a place where they can comfortably spend half an hour or even a longer conversation. The modern Dine-in creates this relaxed, flexible dining experience, and we want to give this to our guests in Szombathely”

– said Miklós Kozák, Pizza Hut’s Hungarian director.

The new robot plays music, dances and serves

One of the most exciting parts of the opening of the Szombathely restaurant is the arrival of the server robot named Bella, which will appear in Pizza Hut restaurants for the first time in Hungary. The robot is not intended to replace servers, but to support employees. It can take out the food, bring back the used plates, and in the process, it surprises everyone with playful functions that will be especially popular with children: it plays music, dances, and reacts when stroked. It will also receive a unique pizza apron upon opening, which further strengthens the family-friendly atmosphere.

The other special element is the Ice Cream Factory, which is one of the central locations of the Szombathely restaurant. Here, guests can scoop their own ice cream and then decorate it with various toppings and sauces.

Eger and Nyíregyháza are next

In addition to Szombathely, a new Pizza Hut unit is already being developed in Eger, and these are expected by the beginning of 2026. Miklós Kozák sees that the modern Dine-in concept may appear in even more Hungarian cities in the coming years.

“After the openings in Szombathely and Eger, we are continuously examining opportunities in other cities. Our goal is to be present as soon as possible wherever there is traffic and a suitable storefront is available. This strategy has also brought about these current openings”

– stated the director, who added that Pizza Hut currently has a total of 29 restaurants in operation or under preparation in Hungary, and is still looking for entrepreneurs who would like to join the network as franchise partners. The brand’s long-term goal is to establish at least 60 domestic units, for which the modern Dine-in concept provides a solid foundation.
