New financial director at the head of Media Markt Hungary
From January 2024, Mariann Ribár will replace Éva Posan as the financial director of Media Markt Hungary. Éva Posan continues her professional duties in Austria as the financial director of MediaMarkt Austria.
The new financial director of the Hungarian MediaMarkt, Mariann Ribár, has more than 15 years of experience as an economic executive. He started his career at the food manufacturing company Danone, then switched to the service sector at Brink’s C.L. to Hungary. During his 7 years at Brinks, in addition to the classic economic areas, he also included the IT team. From 2015 until January of this year, he was at the retail company GrandVision, which is part of EssilorLuxottica, as regional economic director. During this time, he oversaw the successful operation of 220 optical stores in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with nearly 1,500 employees, organized into 4 networks (the Ofotért and VisionExpress stores in Hungary) with warehouses and logistics processes centralized in Budapest.
During his most recent tasks, he focused on the areas of controlling, finance, law, IT, real estate and business process management, as well as on the development of the organization, increasing profitability and expansion. The strategic changes initiated by Éva Posan to reform finances and general operations at MediaMarkt will continue together with Mariann.
