Baker McKenzie’s Budapest team is strengthened with a new partner
International law firm Baker McKenzie has appointed Tamás Szkiba as a partner, further strengthening the Budapest office’s leading transaction advisory practice covering Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe.
Coming from DLA Piper, Tamás Szkiba has over a decade of experience in complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Tamás has extensive experience in M&A transactions in the energy sector, including transactions related to renewable and conventional energy sources. He also has a strong transactional background in the financial sector and the defense industry, where he advised on major corporate restructurings and strategic initiatives. Tamás also played a key role in developing the transactional insurance practice at his previous firm, building strong relationships with market players in the Central and Eastern European region.
“Tamás’s arrival is a significant step in the continued growth of our transaction practice in Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region,” said Ákos Fehérváry, Managing Partner and Head of the M&A practice at Baker McKenzie in Budapest. “His industry knowledge, particularly in the energy and defense sectors, and his extensive experience in complex M&A transactions will add significant value to our clients and further strengthen our market-leading transaction practice.” David Allen, Head of Baker McKenzie’s EMEA Transaction Group, said: “Tamás’ experience brings a unique blend of regional insight and industry expertise.
