A new bottling plant and pálinka distillery in Érpatak
Zsindelyes Pálinka Distillery will build an automatic bottling plant and a new brewery in September. The 229 million HUF investment will be realized partly by EU support.
The automated bottling plant will be able to bottle 24 thousand bottles of Pálinka in 8 hours. The distilerry's turnover of 2008 was nearly 2.5 billion HUF. The Zsindelyes Pálinka Distillery has 46 employees. Last year, the company produced 75 thousand hectolitres of Pálinka. This year, with the construction of the new plant it will be around 150 thousand. According to managing director Papp József, the industry's future lies in pélinka and gastro tourism. That is why the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Pálinka Association formed with the participation of distilerries of Tiszabecs, Napkor, Tarpa, Panyola and Érpatak and six associated restaurants and hotels – reports Portfolio.hu.
