New online application is easy to calculate the ecological footprint

BASF developed an internet-based eco-efficiency barometer, which allows the user to examine the environmental impact of a particular product through combinations of several key parameters.

So far, if anyone wanted to take an informed decision, had to make a comprehensive, unique eco-efficiency analysis, or other life-cycle analysis (LCA), that took into account the amount of resources. BASF developed  Ecovio® Eco-Efficiency Compass (E³C), eco-efficiency on-line application, that now makes the decision much easier.
The barometer is suitable for eco-efficiency testing of popular retail shopping bags and polystyrene trays. The program can be expanded with other product groups, the new products are quickly and can be included easily.
