A new indicator indicates the boom in the tourism sector
A new indicator, a representative Tourism Boom Index (tki) covering all sub-sectors of tourism, was developed by tourism organizations together with GKI Economic Research to measure the expected development of the sector and market trends on a monthly basis, they announced at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday. In May, tki showed a value of plus 12 on a scale between minus 100 and plus 100.

New economy index was developed by GKI and tourism organizations
The new measure was developed by the National Association of Tourism and Hospitality Employers (VIMOSZ) together with the Hungarian Tourism Association Foundation (MTSZA) and GKI, but recognizing the importance of the index, it was also supported by most professional associations – hotel associations, travel agencies – Gál Pál Zoltán, President of VIMOSZ said.
