New models at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemét: a milestone in the implementation of the purely electric product strategy
Mercedes-Benz continues to transform its global production network by focusing on the production of electric vehicles in the luxury segment. The company is preparing to make its products purely electric by the end of the decade wherever market conditions permit.
As part of the global production network, the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemét plays an important role in this process. From 2024, the vehicles of the repositioned MMA platform will roll off the production lines here, which platform will offer both pure electric and conventional versions and will redefine the company’s compact “Entry Luxury” segment. From the middle of the decade, a model of the higher, purely electric MB.EA platform belonging to the “Core Luxury” segment will join the factory’s product portfolio.
