New McDonald’s restaurants may open in Hungary – Tiszaújváros is also a potential location
McDonald’s Hungary has confirmed that they are considering opening several new restaurants, and Tiszaújváros could be one of the possible locations. The news has sparked great interest in the city of ten thousand, where locals have been speculating for years whether there will ever be a fast food restaurant.
According to a report by Boon.hu, opinions are divided on social media: many see it as an opportunity to create jobs and a new gastronomic offer, while others say the chain’s presence is unnecessary. However, the majority would explicitly support the opening.
According to a statement from McDonald’s, the opening of each new unit requires a long preparation process, during which they consider numerous business aspects. They have not yet provided information about specific locations, but they emphasized that their goal is to operate in places that are conveniently accessible to their guests, with high-quality services.
There are currently 115 McDonald’s operating in Hungary, mainly in Miskolc (with five units) in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, but there are also restaurants in Kazincbarcika and Ózd. There are currently none in Tiszaújváros, but the situation may change in the future.
