Gyermelyi Zrt. handed over a new mill
On Friday, Gyermelyi Zrt. handed over a new mill built with an investment of more than HUF 6.5 billion, making the company Hungary’s largest mill industry enterprise operating within one site.
Before handing over the mill, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said that the company received HUF 1.7 billion in non-refundable state funds for the investment within the framework of the investment support program for large companies.
The minister pointed out that in the last eight years, 250 support contracts were created within the framework of the program, development worth HUF 570 billion could be realized, of which HUF 133 billion is related to the food industry.
Béla Tóth, president and director of Gyermelyi Zrt., said that the new mill is capable of grinding 300 tons of soft wheat per day. With the development, together with the output of the two existing mills, the grinding capacity of Gyermelyi Zrt. will increase to 800 tons per day. In addition to supplying the pasta factory and Hungarian partners, this also enables serving foreign customers.
After the construction of the mill, the grain storage capacity will be increased with HUF 3 billion development, and a system capable of storing 40,000 tons of grain will be ready by summer.
