MAHOP Plus implementation gets new impetus
The Ministry of Agriculture has received a gross grant of HUF 1.168 billion from European Union funds, with domestic co-financing, within the framework of the priority project entitled “Technical Assistance Project for the Implementation of MAHOP Plus” with identification number MAHOP Plusz-3.1.1-24-2024-00001. The project implementation period covers the 2021-2027 funding cycle and runs from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2029.

Pursuant to Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2021/1139 establishing the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFF) and Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, the fund may provide technical assistance for the efficient management and use of funds. The project aims to support the efficient, effective, regular and transparent implementation of the Hungarian Fisheries Operational Programme Plus (MAHOP Plus) for the period 2021-2027, approved by the European Commission, and to ensure the high-quality operation of the institutional system responsible for its implementation. Within the framework of the project, the Managing Authority finances the preparatory, monitoring, administrative, technical assistance, evaluation, information, communication, complaint handling, as well as audit and control activities necessary for the implementation of the operational programme. The project will prepare the studies, strategies, plans, evaluations necessary for the implementation of MAHOP Plus, as well as documents serving the preparation of the next funding cycle.
Special attention will be paid to:
- dissemination of information,
• support for networking,
• implementation of communication activities, - raising awareness,
- and encouraging cooperation and exchange of experience.
The project will provide the appropriate institutional and administrative framework necessary for the successful implementation of the operational programme
During the implementation, special external expert tasks will also be carried out, which are related to specific measures and tasks. The measure covers the costs of operating the monitoring committee, in which representatives of the partner organizations also participate, and also ensures the implementation of events and professional programs organized for them. Within the framework of the information activities, support and development opportunities will be presented, and the results of the program and good practices of implemented projects will be presented. In order to increase the efficiency of communication towards the population and to create stronger synergies, the Managing Authority will also contribute to the implementation of events, publications and marketing activities serving to popularize fish farming subsidies.
