Mars appoints a new manager responsible for the Central European supply chain
Mars, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of confectionery, food and pet food, has appointed a new manager responsible for the Central European supply chain. Richard Lemerle, who is currently the director responsible for Mars’ southern European supply chain, will be promoted to director responsible for the southern and central European supply chain, so he will be responsible for the region including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. In his new position, Richard Lemerle will also join Mars’ Central European management team.
Richard Lemerle has over 25 years of experience in various regional and global positions. In 2016, he joined Mars’ Italian supply chain team. Four years later, his responsibility extended to several countries in Southern Europe: he was also responsible for the supply chain of Greece, Malta and Cyprus. In the course of his work, he plays an important role in raising the usual routine operations to a new level, and among other things, he places great emphasis on eliminating tasks that do not represent added value with the help of the opportunities provided by innovative artificial intelligence. Thanks to his leadership, Mars’ southern European market has been at the forefront of the digital transformation. Richard will now also transfer his experience to Central Europe, and as the director responsible for Mars’ Southern and Central European supply chain, he will also be responsible for the supply chain in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
