Historical foundations and traditions
The tradition of growing grapes in the Villány wine region dates back to the Romans, who already lived in the III. grapes were grown here in the 19th century. In addition to Hungarians, Serbs and Germans also contributed to the development of viticulture and winemaking over the centuries. Zsigmond Teleki, the founder of the winery, was both a keeper of traditions and an innovator of European viticulture. Thanks to his work, after the phylloxera epidemic, grape growing was revived in Europe with the help of suitable subjects.
The renewing TELEKI brand
The successor of the Zsigmond Teleki winery founded in 1881, Csányi Pincészet Zrt., currently has the longest cellar system in the wine region, about 1000 meters long. Wines from grapes from the best vineyards of Villány, such as Kopár, Csillagvölgy and Hársos, mature here. The wines of the winery are made unique by the diversity of the grapes and the work of a team with multi-generational expertise.
The current transformation includes not only the modernization of the business strategy, but also the creation of a new, up-to-date brand. The wines of the renewed TELEKI brand bring about meetings, get you out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and help you have meaningful conversations with good wines.
