Sano is building a new ready-to-eat feed mixing plant in Csém
The Bavarian-owned Sano-Modern Takarmányozás Kft. is building a new feed mixing plant next to its existing factory in Csémen with an investment of ten billion forints, thus tripling the amount of animal feed produced here. The Hungarian government supported the investment with a non-refundable grant of 5 billion forints – it was announced at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the facility on Thursday.
In his welcoming speech before the foundation stone laying, István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, highlighted that more than 1,500 billion forints reached farmers in the rural development program that ended in 2025.
In the CAP Strategic Plan until 2027, almost 500 billion forints are available for the food and processing industry – the minister explained.
István Nagy added that three tenders have been issued so far, and based on the decisions, more than 900 food and processing industry projects have received support worth 450 billion forints. Within this, 73 feed production plants received support worth almost 80 billion forints.
Zsolt Csorba, CEO of Sano-Modern Takarmányozás Kft., said that the new ready-to-feed mixing plant will supply feed to Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak and Bulgarian cattle and pig farms, as well as sell it to individual users.
Two production lines will be set up in the plant to produce pig and cattle feed. The planned capacity of the facility is 60 tons per hour, thus enabling the production of 120 thousand tons of ready-to-feed feed per year. The factory is complemented by a 2,400 square meter warehouse. The investment is scheduled to be completed in October 2028.
Sano-Modern Takarmányozás Kft., a subsidiary of the German Sano group, has been present in Hungary since 1994. The company’s feed mixing plant was built in Cséme in 2007, and its main profile is the production of feed supplement concentrates.
