Wizz Air launches new flight from Debrecen to Istanbul
The list of cities accessible from Debrecen by Wizz Air flights is expanding further. From July 1, it will also be possible to reach Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, from the airport in eastern Hungary. The flights will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays – the airline announced on Thursday.
The announcement highlighted that Wizz Air has significantly expanded its offering between Hungary and Turkey in recent times. During the summer, they already operate daily flights from Budapest to Istanbul and Antalya, and they will also launch flights between the capitals of the two countries, Budapest and Ankara, later this year, they wrote in the statement.
Wizz Air operates a fleet of 262 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, and the company carried 68.6 million passengers in 2025. Wizz Air is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker WIZZ.
Wizz Air will achieve revenue of 1.3 billion euros in the third financial quarter between October and December 2025, which is an increase of 10.2 percent on an annual basis. In the third quarter, the company’s EBITDA was 176 million euros, up 12.2 percent year-on-year. In the same period, the company’s loss was 139 million euros, down 42.2 percent year-on-year.
