New flavors have been identified by Australian researchers
A possible seventh flavor, carbohydrate has been identified by Australian researchers who are trying to reveal how this flavor is related to the consumption of starchy foods.
“This is typically sugar, with the sensual sweet taste that most people desires after carbohydrates, but our research has shown that there is a delicious taste quality that is due to the consumption of other carbohydrates independent of sweet taste” – Russell Keast, professor of Deakin University, the leader of the research told.
