Banks have introduced new measures to increase cybersecurity
Hungarian financial institutions, OTP and K&H Bank, would strengthen the cybersecurity of their customers, and both reported to MTI about measures aimed at this.
OTP Bank announced in its statement that it would discontinue logging into OTP InternetBank from mobile devices as of May 5, 2025. Thus, customers will be able to conduct their banking affairs online from mobile devices using the OTP MobilBank application, but not with internet banking. It is therefore worth using mobile banking (which can be downloaded from the app store) with a mobile phone, while it is worth opening the OTP InternetBank interface with a desktop computer, laptop or tablet – they announced.
According to the statement, internet banking accessed using a mobile device is not typical, with barely 3 percent of customers banking online in this way. The reason for the change is to increase the effectiveness of protection against online fraudsters in addition to low usage
– they wrote.
K&H Bank has launched a new, free security awareness program for its corporate customers. The initiative, which runs until October, aims to help businesses identify and manage digital threats. The program consists of three distinct, complementary elements, each of which contributes to strengthening companies’ cybersecurity preparedness.
