New director for MKVM
Last November Dr Róbert Török replaced Imre Kiss in the director’s seat of the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism (MKVM).
How long have you been working in MKVM and in what positions?

Dr. Róbert Török
director
MKVM
I have graduated as a historian and museologist at ELTE BTK. In 2007 I joined the MKVM team. Since 2012 I have been deputy director and have led the collection management team. I am going to fill the director position for 5 years.
What are your plans and what changes can be expected after the reopening?
We would like to modernise both the external and the internal image of the museum, and we want to give the information system and the building’s street view an overhaul. Developing the shop is a top priority. We are also busy digitalising our collection and creating online content. Currently there are 24 employees and they form an excellent collective.
What kind of works are being done in the museum at the moment?
Digitalisation, shooting information videos, writing blogs and articles, plus stock keeping in our warehouse. We will organise several new temporary exhibitions and programmes (KULTEA brand, KULTEÁTRUM). In the long run I wish to realise strategic and infrastructural development projects. Our main goal is offering high quality museum services to the public.

Digitalization work presses ahead at full steam
