BudapestGO gets new update

New developments are coming to the application, thanks to which the map function will be renewed, the search will become faster, and the “get on board” button will also be easier to use. During the development period, customers will not be able to use the BudapestGO application from 10 pm on October 14th until approximately 7 am the next morning (October 15th). In order for the application to be functional again after the developments arrive, users must first update the application to the latest version of BudapestGO.

A new update makes BKK’s popular travel application, BudapestGO, even faster and more reliable. The new features affect several functions, such as route planning, which will make it even more convenient to search for a home or work destination, making planning even faster. The names of the stops will also be visible in the route plan view, and the list view of the routes will also be more informative.

The “I’m getting on” button, which makes it easier for season ticket holders and day ticket holders to board and present their tickets, has also been improved. The function can now be used more easily when arriving at the final stops. By clicking the “I’m getting on” button at the stop or final stop, the application will only display the nearest vehicles departing within two minutes (in the case of the metro, the metro station). After selecting the appropriate vehicle, scanning is also simplified, as you don’t have to go back one step in the application, but can do so on the currently active interface.

During the development, from 10pm on October 14th until approximately 7am the next day, October 15th, customers will not be able to use the BudapestGO app. After that, users will need to update the app (to Android/iOS version 6.4.2).

A new product has also been added to BudapestGO from October: holders of a valid Budapest pass (except for the half-monthly Budapest pass), a full-price or discounted version of the Pest county pass or national pass in paper or digital form can purchase an additional ticket for the 100E Airport Express route for the price of two line tickets, i.e. 1000 forints, instead of the normal price of 2500 forints.

The additional airport line ticket is available under the “Other transport tickets” menu item in the BudapestGO app and can only be purchased and validated if they have a valid (digital or paper) pass. Upon boarding, passengers must present their valid ticket, after which they can validate the additional airport line ticket.

To ensure that BudapestGO always has the latest developments, it is worth selecting automatic updates in the phone settings menu, so that the application’s new features will always be available in the future.
