The Sziget festival has new goals for 2025
A new era in the history of the Sziget Festival begins after the 30th anniversary event. Tamás Kádár, the main organizer of the festival, announced on Tuesday that significant changes are expected in the coming years. Their goal is to make the event even more modern and prioritize the guest experience, while preserving the values of Sziget. The new owner, US private equity fund KKR, which recently bought Superstruct Entertainment for £1.3 billion, is also backing these efforts. According to the main organizer, KKR can help the further development of the festival not only with financial resources, but also with business opportunities.

Around 400,000 visitors were welcomed at this year’s six-day Sziget festival, and on the closing day, the Skrillex and Fred Again… concerts were almost sold out. The festival’s Saturday was also a highlight, with stars such as Louis Tomlinson and Martin Garrix performing. According to Tamás Kádár, this year’s Sziget was extremely successful, the festival took place in complete calm, and there were no unexpected events – reports Pénzcentrum.
Already after the end of last year’s festival, the organizers saw that there was a significant interest in this year’s event, especially in season tickets. The willingness of Hungarian visitors to buy passes also increased, which encouraged the organizers to start the “super early bird” ticket sales period for 2025 as well.
The musical offer of Sziget is adapted to the tastes of an audience that has become significantly younger in the last ten years. Tamás Kádár emphasized that it is important to offer programs that are attractive to young people and for which they are willing to travel thousands of kilometers. Among this year’s performers, Stormzy, Bebe Rexha, Janelle Monáe, Sam Smith and Raye targeted the younger audience, while Kylie Minogue and Liam Gallagher attracted the slightly older audience to the festival.
